FAQ: Everything Cardiac & IR Teams Ask About Philips Mobile Cath Labs
“How quickly can the trailer be scanning patients?”
Most sites treat their first patient within a week of delivery. Atlas handles pad verification, power tie-in, physics QA, and apps training in a single workday.

“What procedures can we perform safely in a mobile unit?”
Anything you do in your fixed Philips room—PCI, embolization, biopsy, EVAR follow-up, dialysis-access work—can be done in the trailer. The system has identical dose limits, detector specs, and sterility controls.
"How does infection control sign-off work?”
The trailer is positive-pressure, HEPA-filtered, and laminar-flow compliant. We provide an Infection-Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) template and airflow validation data for your committee.
“Do we need special electrical service?”
Yes: 480 V, 3-phase, 200 A on a dedicated breaker. If your plant only offers 400 V, Atlas supplies a step-up transformer.
“Will the trailer integrate with our PACS and EMR?”
Our Philips systems support DICOM Store, IHE Scheduled Workflow, and HL7 v2. Images auto-route to PACS; dose reports and procedure notes flow to the EMR—no manual uploads.
“What about radiation safety?”
Walls, doors, and viewing windows include 0.5 mm Pb-equivalent shielding. A licensed physicist performs an on-site survey and issues a signed report for your Radiation-Safety Officer.
“How loud is the generator?”
The coach runs on hospital power, not an onboard generator. Noise levels inside match a typical fixed room (~58 dB during fluoro).
“Who services the system if something breaks?”
Atlas service engineers provide 24/7 coverage. Atlas coordinates parts, labor, and travel—no hidden fees.
“What is the monthly rental cost?”
Rates range depending on mobile vs modular, system, rental length, apps training requirements, and delivery location. Anywhere from $30k-90k per month.
“How long can we keep the trailer?”
As long as you want! We've done rental contracts as short as 3 months and as long as 5 years.
